(Warsaw-AP) -- A Western New York woman is scheduled to be arraigned on a second-degree murder charge for the New Year's Eve death of her 18-month-old daughter.
A Wyoming County grand jury returned an indictment for two counts of second-degree murder and one count of endangering the welfare of a child, against Nicole Bzduch of Perry.
Police in the village were called to Bzduch's apartment for a child not breathing. Upon arriving, they found a person from a downstairs business trying to resuscitate Zoey Stevens.
The child was taken by ambulance to Wyoming County Community Hospital, and died half an hour later.
The cause of death was determined as blunt force trauma to the abdomen. Investigators later determined the death was a homicide.
