CLARENCE, NY - Gun rights advocates who disagree with the SAFE Act protested in front of the New York State Police barracks in Clarence on Saturday. They're hoping the officers inside will join their opposition to the gun control measure.
"We need them to know that we need them to speak up," said Don Hey, organizer of the protest. "We need them to know (that) when they do speak up, if they are reprimanded by anyone in the state, we'll be behind them by the hundreds. Guaranteed. Because the right thing needs to start happening in this state."
