2-Alarm Fire Overnight on Elmwood Avenue

BUFFALO, N.Y. - Fire officials responded to a two-alarm fire that caused significant damage to an apartment building on Elmwood Avenue overnight.

The structure at 353 Elmwood suffered $200,000 worth of damage in the fire. Buffalo Fire crews were called out around 12:36 a.m. Saturday.

Elmwood Avenue was shut down while firefighters fought to get the blaze under control.

Officials say one person was hospitalized with smoke inhalation. 

The Red Cross has been called to assist residents who lived in the home.
