Derby Man Admits Stealing Money From Youth Football League

BUFFALO, NY-- A Derby man has admitted to stealing money from a youth football league.

Erie County District Attorney Frank Sedita announced Thursday that David Mascio, 43, pled guilty to grand larceny for stealing funds from the Lakeshore Youth Football league from February 2, 2011 to June 7, 2011.

Investigators say Mascio, who was the league's president and active treasurer, admitted to cashing more than $5,000 in checks made payable to himself.  He also admitted to taking more than $8,000 in concession stand profits.

Mascio will be sentenced January 28, 2013.  He faces a maximum of 2-4 years in prison.
