Kenmore, NY - It doesn't have to be Halloween for Greg Hinaman to dress up as a Zombie to help a charity.
He started Terror Technologies, a charity promotions group with more than 100 volunteers.
He explains, "You turn into somebody else, and it's fun being somebody else once in a while."
Among the emails we received about this good neighbor, Debra wrote, "Everything Greg does is for charity and to help everyone in our community. For those of us in the organization he has been a leader and a friend. He works 100% harder than anyone I have known in my life, and all for the benefit of others." Renata wrote, "Greg is a man with a heart of gold who does without so other can have. He would give his shirt off his back if someone needed it."
And the numbers from this group are impressive. Since 2011, the Food Bank of Western New York says Greg's group has brought in 4,647 pounds of food. Terror Technologies also collected 14 bags of hats and gloves for Hearts for the Homeless. They've worked to help Make-A-Wish, donate blood to UNYTS and more.
Al Baker's been volunteering with the group for three years and explains that it is fun and rewarding.
As for the good neighbor who started it all, "We call him Deady because he fathered all of us... puts it all together. Makes it all happen so we can smile."
There are plenty of events planned through Halloween and beyond. You can learn more on facebook or Terror Technologies website.
