Women that exercise still sit too much

New research finds even women who are physically active spend too much time sitting.

Past studies have shown that people who sit for extended periods of time are at a greater risk of developing chronic diseases.

Many of the women in the study met or exceeded exercise recommendations, but still spent an average of nine hours a day sitting.

Researchers recommend replacing sitting with some light activity like walking down the hall instead of sending an email, standing while talking on the phone or taking breaks to move around.
