BUFFALO, N.Y. - Developers behind a plan to build a new downtown stadium for the Bills say construction will begin this year.

The group behind the proposal, Greater Buffalo Sports and Entertainment Complex, says once they negotiate with Mayor Byron Brown and the NFL, they are confident that new developments on the new stadium will begin this year.

"I think it comes to fruition this year. I think we'll get the commitments we need from the property owners," George Hasiotis said.  "It's public land, it's a perfect site. And, it's not a question of if, it's a question of why not?"

Of course, many believe the idea is simply not feasible.

The plan, which includes a 72,000 seat stadium with a retractable roof, a convention center and museum, has drawn a lot of skepticism.  Developers say the plan will cost about $1.4 Billion.
