eating a diet rich in fruits and vegetables could help lower the risk of estrogen receptor negative breast cancer.

e-r negative accounts for 15 to 20-percent of all breast cancers ... and has lower survival rates than other forms of the disease.

researchers found that while total fruit and vegetable consumption was significantly linked to a lower risk of e-r negative tumors, vegetables made the biggest difference.

however, fruit and vegetable intake did not affect the risk of overall breast cancer or e-r positive tumors.
