East Rutherford, NJ (Sports Network) - Ottawa Senators forward Milan Michalek
will play for the first time since undergoing knee surgery last month in
Friday's game against the New Jersey Devils.
Michalek, who led the Senators with a career-high 35 goals last season, has
been out of action since March 8 and had an arthroscopic procedure on his
right knee 11 days later. He has missed the club's last 15 games.
The veteran Czech also was sidelined three weeks earlier in the season with
knee problems and has appeared in just 15 contests thus far in 2013, recording
a pair of goals and eight assists.
Ottawa enters Friday's matchup tied with the New York Islanders for the sixth
overall seed in the Eastern Conference and is two points ahead of the eighth-
place New York Rangers with eight remaining in the regular season.
