NIAGARA FALLS, NY - An unusual fire held up drivers on the 190 in Niagara Falls for quite some time.
A boat caught on fire near Witmer Road shortly after 1:00 AM Sunday morning. Firefighters say a flat tire sparked and caused the boat to catch fire.
The smoke went up pretty high and the fire chief says they were lucky no one was hurt.
"When I arrived the boat was fully involved in fire, also had a full tank of fuel. My engine came in, got it knocked down pretty quickly and we're working on investigating it at this time.", Dan Leven, Upper Mountain Fire Company Chief said.
The northbound lane of 190 was opened back up about an hour and a half later at around 2:30 Sunday morning.
