A fisherman missing for nearly 12 hours was safely rescued by the US Coast Guard wednesday afternoon off Long Island.
Rescuers from across New England had searched more than 780 square miles for Jonathan Aldridge after he was last seen on his lobster boat tuesday night.
A Coast Guard helicopter finally spotted him floating in the ocean about 43 miles south of Montauk.
He was plucked from the ocean without a raft and only using his rubber boots to stay afloat. Officials say he had fallen off the back of his boat while moving a cooler.
Many are calling it a miracle rescue.
