Mary's story started long before a winter day in February when an acquaintance saw her walking aimlessly on the side of the road, but because that good neighbor stopped we learned of Mary's recovery.
Mary Schultz is a mother of nine and a wife of more than 20 years. She says she suffered from severe postpartum depression. She spent months in the hospital for treatment, but still could not care for herself. She is not sure what would have happened to her if Diana had not stopped and helped her find more options.
It took four years of intensive treatment and friends like Diana and Rosalie who worked with Mary to turn her life around. She remarried her husband and is once again caring for her children, including one child with autism.
Mary is grateful for her friends and family for their support and encourages others living with mental illness to never give up.
Rosalie helped Mary and Diana navigate the mental health system and suggests starting with a mental health association in your area if you are looking for help.
