Well over half of children diagnosed with autism are prescribed at least one psychiatric medication.

A new study also found a third of autistic children take two or more of these medications from multiple drug classes ... and about one in seven take at least three of these drugs.

The most commonly prescribed medications were anti-depressants, anti-psychotics and drugs to treat attention deficit disorder.
