The University at Buffalo acapella group "The Buffalo Chips" will compete next Saturday night in New York City for a national acapella title, competing against some of the best and most talented voices in the national college community.
The all male group was formed 15 years ago and has competed in competitions but has never made the national contest. The 13 students range in age from 19 to 26 and vary in majors. All of the guys sang in high school with half being from Western New York.
The Buffalo Chips pick their own songs, choreograph their own dance moves and sing everything from John Mayer to Billy Joel and Elvis.
The national competition is Saturday, April 24th, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. in the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. There are 6 teams scheduled to compete.
