BAGHDAD (AP) - Thursday's deadly car bombings in Iraq's capital Baghdad have killed at least 31 people and have wounded dozens of others.

Attacks have been on the rise in Iraq since a deadly security crackdown in April on a Sunni protest camp. And more than 3,000 people have been killed in violence during the past few months.

In the deadliest of today's blasts, police say a bomb struck near a bus station in a northern Shiite neighborhood, killing eight people and wounding 18.

Another car bomb exploded near daily laborers close to the fortified Green Zone where government offices are located. Five people were killed. And in eastern Baghdad, seven people were killed when a car bomb went off near a traffic police office.
