AMHERST, N.Y.-Last year UB trailed U-Mass 19-7 late in the third quarter. UB scored 22 straight points to win the 29-19. It was a turning point for the Bulls.
Now the Bulls are riding a four game winning streak. U-Mass is 1-5 with its first win of the season coming last week against Miami of Ohio, 17-10.
Its the first time ever the Bulls have ever started 2-0 in MAC play. They joined the conference in 1999. The Bulls have won five straight just one other time since joining the MAC, they won five straight during the 2008 season.
Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 Saturday afternoon at UB Stadium.
At least partly because of UB athletic director Danny White's aggressive marketing campaign attendance has picked up at Bulls home games. Senior wide receiver told Two On Your Side's Stu Boyar "He's doing all this to show that he's all in we have to go out here and win so I think it's a little pressure that turned into some confidence in us to go out there and play well and do good and to look up in the stands and see all those people is amazing and now going on the road I don't like it. I like to be here at home around all the fans because on the road nobody cheers for you when you do things."
