BUFFALO, N.Y.-Offermann Stadium's place in Buffalo sports history will never be forgotten. John Boutet, the curator of the Buffalo Sports Museum made sure of that Saturday morning when a plaque was unveiled at the site of the old stadium.
Its been over 50 years since the Bisons played at Offermann Stadium but the ballpark remains an integral part of the city's sports culture. Boutet told Two On Your Side "We want to remember our past. Sports is such a big part of Buffalo's history that we at the Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame wanted to start remembering places that so many great events were taken place at so Offermann Stadium is a perfect choice to do our first plaque dedication."
Bisons front office personnel and former voice of the Bisons Pete Weber were on hand for the dedication.
One of the most famous home runs in Bisons history came off the bat of the late Luke Easter at Offermann Stadium.
