Houston, TX (Sports Network) - The Houston Texans placed rookie wide receiver
Alec Lemon on injured reserve Tuesday with a right hamstring injury.
The move was one of a cluster of transactions made by the club to reach the
NFL's mandated 75-man roster limit.
Lemon, who signed with the Texans as an undrafted free agent in May, left
Syracuse as the school's career receptions leader (201). He also set a single-
season record with 72 catches in 2012 for the Orange.
The Texans also released linebackers Elliot Coffey and Ja'Gared Davis,
fullback Zach Boren, guard Bryan Collins, running back Ray Graham, cornerback
Travis Howard, quarterback Stephen McGee, offensive tackle Nick Mondek,
defensive end Earl Okine, tight end Adam Schiltz and punter Andrew Shapiro.
A pair of injured players, nose tackle David Hunter and wide receiver Mike
Smith, were also waived.
