BUFFALO, NY--- The NHL Department of Player Safety has summoned Sabres forward Pat Kaleta to a hearing regarding an incident in Thursday night's game against Columbus.
The incident in question involves an illegal check to the head. In the first period, Kaleta is seen taking several strides before checking Columbus defenseman Jack Johnson.
Kaleta was offered an in-person hearing as required by the Collective Bargaining Agreement for any suspension that can exceed five games.
Kaleta received a five game suspension in March for hitting the Rangers Brad Richards from behind.
Since it has been less than 18-months since his last incident, Kaleta could get a significant punishment.
