BUFFALO, NY-- 2 On Your Side cameras were allowed in Erie County Court Friday as a Buffalo man was sentenced for a cold case murder that took place nearly 20 years ago.
James Fountain was sentenced to 23 years to life in prison for the 1994 killing of Cynthia Epps.
The 29-year-old victim had been stabbed multiple times and was nearly decapitated.
Her sister, who spoke out in court, says she does not harbor any ill will against Fountain.
Fountain was arrested last year after cold case homicide detectives matched his DNA found at the crime scene to him.
