BUFFALO, NY - As part of their community outreach, the Buffalo Sabres are in the midst of a week long effort they're calling Sabres Community Assist.

From the front office to the ticket office, just about everyone in the Sabres organization is taking part.

On Tuesday, several players and alumni spent some time at the Buffalo City Mission.

The Sabres have donated $20,000 to the Buffalo City Mission, to remodel the veterans dormitory.

"The goal of the renovation project is to create a more comfortable setting for the veteran's to reside as they transition towards a better life."

Channel Two Photojournalist Dooley O'Rourke spoke with some of the Sabres staff about the important goals in this effort.
