A report from a collection of consumer groups warns parents to limit or even eliminate canned tuna from their kids' diets.  It comes from a concerned that tuna may lead to mercury poisoning in children.

After testing samples from 11 states, researchers found the amount of mercury differed greatly in each can -- although light tuna had less than albacore tuna.

The mercury policy project advises that children should never eat albacore tuna and be limited to only one serving a month of light tuna if they're under 55 pounds.

Despite this report, the FDA is standing by its recommendation that children can consume 12 ounces of light tuna or six ounces of albacore tuna each week.
