AKRON, NY - Federal agents on Thursday executed search warrants at four different smoke shops on the Tonawanda Indian Reservation.
Agents served warrants at: Smoke Rings, Arrowhawk, The Rez and Sacajewa Smoke Shops.
According to William Hochul, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of New York, agents were looking for "synthetic drugs, counterfeit merchandise and unpacked cigarettes."
It is believed federal agents seized synthetic marijuana, methamphetamine, unpackaged cigarettes and counterfeit brand-name clothing.
Agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration; Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms; Immigration and Customs Enforcement; and the Bureau of Indian Affairs were all involved in the raids.
Officials are investigating alleged distribution of synthetic THC sold under the names "Spice," "K2" and "bath salts."
No arrests have been made.
