BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - The Buffalo Zoo has sent its 4-year-old Indian rhino to Canada, where the female will be paired with a male in hopes they'll produce offspring.
The rhino named Clover was born at the Buffalo Zoo in 2008. She was moved Feb. 23 to the African Lion Safari in Cambridge, Ontario.
Clover was the second Indian rhinoceros to be born at the Buffalo Zoo. Her sister arrived in 2004 and was eventually sent to the Toronto Zoo.
Indian rhinos are endangered. The largest of the Asian rhino species, they're found in northern India and southern Nepal.
