(bisons.com)-There was definitely no shutout on Friday night.
After being held to just two hits in their series opener against the Chiefs on Thursday, the Bisons bats exploded for a season-high 19 a night later in a 13-7 triumph over their Thruway Series rival.

Josh Satin had four of the knocks, including his 12th home run of the season. Lucas Duda added a two-run blast and Zach Lutz had three hits and three RBI as the Herd improved to 8-4 against Syracuse this season.

The Bisons scored multiple runs in five of the eight innings they took hacks in, starting with Duda's 28th career Buffalo home run in the bottom of the first. Satin then erased a 5-3 deficit in the third with a three-run shot to centerfield that landed in nearly the identical spot as Duda's.

The hitting quickly became contagious for the Bisons. Lutz followed singles from Josh Rodriguez and Duda in the fourth with a two-run double to give the Herd a 9-5 advantage. Fred Lewis and Rodriguez plated runners in the seventh inning on back-to-back hits and Mike Nickeas launched a two-run blast in the eighth.

All told, nine different Bisons had hits led by Satin's 4-5 night at the plate. Along with his home run, the infielder had two doubles to push his team-leading total to 20.

On the mound, the victory belonged to the Bisons bullpen as four different relievers combined for 6.1 innings of work. The group scattered 10 hits and only gave up two runs to restore order to a game that was 6-5 Buffalo after three. Jeff Stevens was credited with the win for his 1.1 shutout innings. It is his first victory on the season.

It wasn't all good news for the Bisons on Friday as Kirk Nieuwenhuis left the game after grounding out in the first inning. Mets general manager Sandy Alderson said the outfielder suffered an injury to the plantar fascia in his right foot.

The series continues with a single game Saturday night at Coca Cola Field with the first pitch at 7:05.
