BUFFALO, N.Y. --  You know his voice when you hear it.
A high honor Thursday night for a man who holds a special place in the hearts of Sabres fans.

Play-by-play man Rick Jeanneret has been calling Sabres games on radio and TV since 1971.  Thursday night, he was inducted into the Buffalo Broadcasters Hall of Fame.

Jeanneret was one of six inductees.

The others were:

Lee Coppola: Former Investigative Journalist at WIVB, WKBW, and The Buffalo News, and former Dean of the Russell J. Jandoli School of Journalism and Mass Communication at St. Bonaventure University

Marylynn Ryan: Currently bureau chief of the Southeast region for CNN and director of CNN's Weather Unit; former producer at WGRZ, WIVB, and WKBW

Tom Calderone: Graduate of Buffalo State College; President of VH1

Bill Cantwell: Former WIVB Photojournalist

Mike Rozman: Former WGR-AM Radio Traffic Reporter; killed in helicopter crash in 1993; also did station voiceover work at WGRZ-TV
