BUFFALO, N.Y. -- A Tonawanda man who was sentenced to 30 days in jail and three years probation for encouraging the driver of the car he was in to leave the scene of an accident is back in trouble with the law.

John Pieri was arraigned Thursday on charges he violated that probation.

The district attorney's office says the violations involved alcohol use.

Pieri was a passenger in a car driven by Andrea Glinski when she hit two Daemen College students in March of 2009 as they crossed Main Street in Amherst.
