NIAGARA FALLS, NY - Police in Niagara Falls, N.Y. are investigating a hit and run crash that sent a man to the hospital.
Superintendent John Chella tells 2 On Your Side a vehicle hit John Watson, 58, at the intersection of Niagara Falls Boulevard and 92nd Street and left the scene. Investigators say the driver, 43 year-old Mark Brown hit the pedestrian while he was in the turning lane, backed up, and then drove away from the scene.
Brown was later located in the 800 block of 87th street in Niagara Falls. He's charged with DWI, leaving the scene of a serious injury accident, vehicular assault and tampering with evidence. His car, a 1996 Chevy Monte Carlo, has been impounded as evidence.
Watson is currently in stable condition at Erie County Medical Center. We're told he has internal injuries, head injuries and a fractured leg.
More charges are possible as the investigation continues.
