people who feel lonely are more than twice as likely to develop dementia later in life.

that's according to a new study that found 'feeling alone' had a much bigger impact on cognitive decline than actually 'being alone'.

researchers suspect perceived loneliness may affect memory because the brain is not used as much ... or that loneliness could be an early symptom of dementia.
