CANEADEA, N.Y. - One person is in intensive care at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester following an early morning D.W.I. crash.
State Police say the crash happened around 4 a.m. on State Route 19.
Specifics of the crash were not immediately available.
Troopers say there were a total of five people in the car.
Joseph Wzientek, 23, of Fillmore, is charged with common law D.W.I. State Police believe he was driving under the influence of marijuana. Wzientek was taken to Erie County Medical Center with facial injuries. Investigators are awaiting results of a blood test.
A male victim was first taken to Jones Hospital in Wellsville before being transferred to Strong, where he is currently listed in guarded condition in the ICU. Troopers say he is unable to speak with them.
The other passengers suffered injuries of varying degrees, but none are life-threatening.
The investigation is ongoing, and more charges are pending.
