BUFFALO, NY - The Buffalo Bills have hired Doug Marrone to be the team's next head coach, according to reports by ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL.com.

The Bills have yet to confirm the hire.

A source tells 2 on Your Side's Adam Benigni Sunday afternoon that the Bills are in the final stages of working out the details of Marrone's contract.

The Buffalo Bills are expected to hold a press conference at noon today to discuss the future of the team.

Marrone leaves Syracuse University where he's spent the last four years as head coach.

The Orange have a record of 25-25 under Marrone, including an 8-5 record this past season when Syracuse tied for the Big East Conference championship and defeated West Virginia in the Pinstripe Bowl.

Marrone worked in the NFL before leading the Orange.

He spent three seasons, 2006-2008, as the Offensive Coordinator for the New Orleans Saints under Sean Payton. Prior to that he was the New York Jets offensive line coach for four seasons.

Marrone replaces Chan Gailey who was fired by the Bills after a disappointing season.
