BUFFALO, NY - A now-former teacher with the Alden Central School District admitted Friday to sending instant messages of a sexual nature to a 16-year-old student.
Gerald Wild II, 46, of Amherst, pleaded guilty to a single count of endangering the welfare of a child. As a condition of the plea, the Erie County District Attorney's office required Wild to surrender his teaching certificate.
The incidents took place between December, 2011 and June, 2012 while he was employed as a Social Studies teacher at the high school.
Wild faces a maximum penalty of a year in jail when sentenced before Alden Village Justice Robert Woods in March.
