EDEN, NY - The Buffalo FBI agent charged with public lewdness in December of last year was granted a six-month adjournment in contemplation of dismissal in Eden Town Court Tuesday night, according to the Erie County District Attorney's Office.
John A. Yervelli Jr., 48, of Lakeview, was arrested by New York State Police for exposing himself and making "lewd gestures" to a passing truck driver on the Thruway.
If Yervelli stays out of trouble, the charge will be dropped after six months.
Yervelli will also have to complete a psychological counseling program as mandated by the FBI, the DA's office says.
The Buffalo office of the FBI said that an internal review process is ongoing but that Yervelli remains on active duty and has not been reassigned at this time.
