For the first time in school history Hilbert College Mens Basketball became regular season champions and hosted the AMCC Playoff Semifinals on Friday Night. The # 1 seeded Hawks matched up with the # 4 seed Medaille Mavericks in the first of two semi-final games. The Mavericks have had the Hawks number for a few seasons now, but Hilbert felt like the roles were reversed Friday night as this game saw Hilbert as the # 1 seed for the first time ever.

Medaille took the early lead, but the game bounced back and forth, with the Mavs coming out on top 72-69.
Hilbert Senior # 10 Anthony Hodge had 19 points for the Hawks, but it wasn't enough to secure the victory. Senior # 12 Dan McFarland added 15 points, and had 2 steals as he became Hilbert's all time career steals leader with 188 in his last game as a Hawk. Medaille was led by Sophomore guard # 3 Jammal Coleman and Senior guard # 33 Tyler Stevens who both had 19 points for the Mavs.

The Hilbert Hawks finish the season with a school record 20 wins and 6 losses. Medaille moves on to face the # 3 seed, Penn St. Behrend. Penn State Behrend played the # 2 seed La Roche Redhawks, who traveled all the way from Pittsburgh, in the second game of the AMCC Semifinals at Hilbert on Friday.

Behrend won a low scoring game, 55-48. La Roche was bogged down by Behrend's slow paced, and clock working style. Russ Conley led the way for all scorers with 21 points for Penn St. Behrend.

The # 4 seed Medaille Mavericks will face # 3 Penn St. Behrend at Hilbert College on Saturday at 3 PM. The winner of this game will win the AMCC Championship and get an automatic bid into the Division III NCAA playoffs.
