ROCHESTER, NY - Wegmans will freeze the prices on 65 of its products through August 24th, according to a statement released by the grocery store chain on Thursday. That means even if the cost goes up for the products, Wegmans will still charge the same price.
Counting all flavors and varieties, the total number of items on the list is 312.
Items in meat, seafood, produce, grocery, dairy, bakery, frozen foods and deli are on the list, including organic products, with a special emphasis on items that reflect the shift to outdoor grilling and entertaining.
The list is made up almost exclusively of Wegmans brand products, according to President Colleen Wegman, because the company can be more aggressive with pricing its own brand. The company also confirmed that free prescriptions (up to a 90-day supply) for Atorvastatin will be available through the end of 2013.
