( Bisons saw way too much rain and Syracuse offense for their liking on Monday night. Unfortunately, both returned for an encore performance on Tuesday.

The Chiefs scored six runs in the fourth inning of an 8-2 victory over the Bisons at Coca-Cola Field. An inning later, a constant rain was too much for an already-soaked field to handle and the game was called.

Syracuse erased a 2-1 Bisons lead as the first six batters of the fourth inning scored. After singles from Will Rhymes and Corey Brown to lead off the frame, Chris Marrero tripled over the leaping glove of Anthony Gose in centerfield to bring both runners home and give the Chiefs their first lead of the game.

Syracuse scored two more runs on a bizarre play involving the next batter, Zach Walters. Walters grounded a Justin Germano offering to third base and Andy LaRoche came home with the throw. Marrero stayed in a rundown long enough that Walters made it all the way to third base. As the rundown continued, LaRoche's return throw eluded the covering Germano at home and both Marrero and Walters scored for a 5-3 Chiefs' edge.

Two batters later, it was a six-run inning as Mike Costanzo lined a home run just over the wall in right field.

After an insurance run in the top of the fifth for Syracuse and a heavy rain falling on an oversaturated field, the game was called complete.

The Bisons had a strong start to the game as their first two batters scored. Jim Negrych led off the game with a single and scored on a Gose triple. Moises Sierra extended his hit streak to six games by scoring Gose with a roller up the middle.

Syracuse goes for the sweep of the three game series Wednesday afternoon in Buffalo. First pitch is scheduled for 1:05 pm.
