Amherst DWI Accident Sends Four to Hospital

GETZVILLE, NY - One driver is charged with driving while intoxicated and four people are in the hospital after a two-car collision on Campbell Boulevard just north of I-990 Sunday afternoon.

The accident happened around 4:30 p.m. when a 2003 Toyota made a left turn into a 2006 Jeep that was traveling northbound, causing the Jeep to roll over, according to a statement from the Amherst Police Department.

The driver of the Jeep was unhurt but all four passengers were sent to area hospitals. Two adults were rushed to Erie County Medical Center and two children to Women and Children's Hospital. Their condition is not known at this time.

Andrey Tsur-Tsar, 36, of Amherst, the driver of the Toyota, was charged with DWI and other traffic violations. He refused a breath test when taken in to the Amherst Police station.

The accident remains under investigation.
