Jim Cottone, Owner of Malone's Bar, Found Dead in Home

KENMORE, NY - Village of Kenmore Police investigators were at the scene of 21 Landers Road for most of the day Sunday, investigating what Police Chief Peter Breitnauer confimed Sunday night is a homicide.

The victim's name is Vincent James "Jim" Cottone, 62, owner of Malone's Bar & Grill on Delaware Avenue. According to the police chief, Cottone died of what appears to be blunt force injuries.

Police were called to the Cottone residence at 11 a.m. Sunday morning. The property was marked off with crime scene tape and a Central Police Services van was parked outside most of the day.

The investigation is being conducted by the Village of Kenmore Police Department with the help of the Erie County Central Police Services Forensic Laboratory, Breitnauer said. 

No arrests have been made.

Cottone's death came as a shock to neighbors. They  tell 2 On Your Side that Cottone was a great person.
