EAST AURORA, NY-Fisher Price is shedding some 100 jobs at its East Aurora facility the company announced Wednesday.
Most of the people affected are being offered to transfer to El Segundo, California, where Mattel, the toymaker's parent company, has it's North American Division Headquarters.
Relocation costs would be covered by the company for anyone who decides to make the transition. The rest were told their jobs were being eliminated effective immediately and were offered severance packages.
The company says the move allows them to better match their resources with the needs of their business. Some 900 people work at Fisher Price.
Employees in the toy development and research arms of Fisher Price are not affected.
