MORRISTOWN, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a young man from the Buffalo area has died after being hit by a vehicle while walking along a road in northern New York.
State police say Benjamin Schick and John Robinson, both 19 and from Lancaster, were walking on the shoulder of Route 6 in the St. Lawrence County town of Morristown around 9 p.m. Sunday when Schick was hit from behind by a sport utility vehicle that didn't stop.
Schick was taken to the hospital in nearby Ogdensburg, where he was pronounced dead.
Robinson wasn't hit by the SUV and was able to give police a description of the vehicle.
Troopers say the SUV believed to have been involved was reported stolen from the parking lot at an Ogdensburg convenience store.
The driver and vehicle haven't been found.
