TONAWANDA, NY - Veteran Tonawanda police officer Tim Day didn't see this coming.
Two years ago, after a bout of pneumonia, Tim's white blood cells began to attack him.
Today, with the help of a special pump, Tim waits for a life-saving heart transplant.
Fellow officers who wanted to help Tim and his family are now raising funds to help with all the non-medical expenses the Day's are facing.
Channel Two Photojournalist Dooley O'Rourke looked into the growing show of support that Tim is receiving.
