BUFFALO, NY -- This was another special-delivery Saturday for Buffalo Sabres season ticket holders who found some of the players, like Drew Stafford and Tyler Ennis, turning up at their front doors with their tickets.
It's obviously a treat for those fans who get to meet and talk about the upcoming season with the players, but it's also a boost to the players who get to know the fans who will be turning out to cheer them on at the First Niagara Center.
"These are the type of people that you want to play for, who you want to win for," said Stafford, "just the diehard fans that makes it even more special when you show up at the rink and know you're playing for them. So to be out here and meet some of these people in person ... we're very privileged to do so."
The Sabres players weren't the only staffers out delivering tickets. Even the owner and front office took part in this home delivery today. Terry Pegula, his wife Kim, and team president Ted Black are all seen greeting fans at home with family and friends in the attached photo that the club tweeted out Saturday afternoon.
