BUFFALO, NY - "The model for funding public education is changing," says Victor Martucci, President of the Clarence school enrichment fund.
Monday night Martucci handed the Clarence school district another check for nearly $33,000 to help restore athletic teams and clubs. His fund, which has raised a total of $85,000 thus far from nearly 300 families, is halfway to its goal of helping to restore the cuts from the recent budget defeat. Monday's check specifically will restore 10 clubs and intramural sports at the middle school.
The fund was only created eight weeks ago by a group of concerned parents with the purpose of raising money for larger capital projects. That goal however has been put on hold for a year to deal with the current cuts to athletics and clubs. To donate to the fund visit www.clarenceschoolfund.org
