BUFFALO, N.Y. - On the night the Buffalo Sabres snapped their 7 game winless streak, the future of the General Manager was the talk of the town.
Tuesday night on the Canadian network, Sportsnet, analyst Nick Kypreos said "Darcy Regier, yet again, on the hot seat", saying sources are telling him that Sabres upper management is not happy with the job Regier is doing. On the between-periods show, Kypreos went on to say that his source indicated that Pegula and company "wanted to wait until Christmas, but the decision could come a lot sooner than that."
Today the former player, now TV analyst tempered his statements a bit, telling Two On Your Side "There's always scuttlebut there, and I certainly didn't want to give anyone the impression that anything is imminent, or that I'm reporting that this is going to get done."
Sabres' Spokesman Michael Gilbert told 2 On Your Side that the rumor is 100% false.
