Hey Chris Collins...

I've got a bone to pick with you.

I moved here 20 years ago from New York because of the amazing cultural scene here in WNY.

Now you're saying that only the "big ten" will get funded because they bring in money from OUTSIDE WNY.

The people who pay the taxes who enjoy, and in my case, are employed by the Arts?

While the Big Ten culturals are great, it takes more than that to make a community.

It takes a village.

A village of all size theaters and galleries and dance companies and festivals that people can enjoy, and by the way contribute to the economy.

The small and mid-sized culturals help the restaurants before the shows and the clubs after.

They invest in lumber and supplies for sets and costumes and in operating expenses all year long.

So think about this:

The artistic community contributes more than just our talent,   we bring MONEY to WNY.

Please don't bring the curtain down on us.  We're here to enrich WNY and help build a brighter future.

I'm Loraine O'Donnell and that's My 2 Cents.
