Armed Robbery in Town of Batavia

TOWN OF BATAVIA, N.Y. - Genesee County Sheriffs Deputies are asking for your help to identify a man who robbed the Sally Beauty Supply on Veterans Memorial Drive.

Deputies say the robbery happened at about 9:15 a.m.  Saturday when a man wearing a ski mask and carrying a knife entered the store.

Police say the man approached a woman working in the store and demanded money from the cash register.

Investigators say the man then took the woman back to her purse and demanded any money she had, then tied the woman's hands and feet together.

Police say the employee was unharmed and the man got away with an undetermined amount of cash.

The Genesee County Sheriff's Office released the following description:

  • White, male 5'5" to 5'7"
  • Possibly wearing Puma shoes, dark jeans, and a dark windbreaker
  • May have been driving a light-colored 2002-2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee with NY State gold and blue license plates.
