UNIVERSAL CITY, CA - NBC has announced that Jimmy Fallon will take over as host of "The Tonight Show" in Spring of 2014.

When he concludes his run, Jay Leno will have hosted the Tonight Show for 22 years.

NBC says that they are still developing programming plans for the 12:35 a.m. hour that currently features "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon."

When "The Tonight Show" returns to New York, Lorne Michaels ("Saturday Night Live," "30 Rock") will serve as the show's Executive Producer.

Comedian Jimmy Fallon started his TV career with "Saturday Night Live" in 1998 and later became host of "Late Night" in March 2009.
