A florida judge has ruled that emergency calls made by former Neighborhood Watchman, George Zimmerman, can be used as evidence in his trial.

The calls were made by Zimmerman months before he shot and killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, last year.

Zimmerman's defense team had hoped to keep jurors from hearing the 9-1-1 recordings, but the judge has ruled that the information is crucial to the case.

George Zimmerman pleaded not guilty to second degree murder charges, and says he shot Trayvon Martin in self-defense.
