ATLANTA (AP) - Missouri's Head Start programs will be able to go on during the federal government shutdown thanks to a $10 million grant to the national association from two philanthropists.

National Head Start Association officials say Laura and John Arnold's donation will help serve more than 7,000 at-risk children while the government shutdown continues.

It also will help programs in Georgia, Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, and South Carolina.
