Shutdown Day 11: Republicans Appear Ready to Parley

WASHINGTON, D.C. - There are more encouraging signs in Washington on the 11th day of the partial government shutdown. On Friday, Democrats, Republicans and the White House were talking about progress and  cooperation.

That's good news since it's just six days to go before a possible budget default.

It looks like the change is motivated by a wave of polls that show Republicans getting hammered for the shutdown but, whatever the reason, the whole mood here has changed.

53 percent blame the GOP in Congress for the shutdown, according to an NBC News poll, prompting a Republican reboot. The Republican strategy now is to make a deal.
